Small Footprint, Big Potential: Our 10ft Shipping Container Coffee Bar
Who says you need a huge space to create a brilliant coffee bar?
Our recent 10ft shipping container conversion is proof that a compact footprint can still deliver everything you need for a stylish, practical and fully functioning coffee business.
Designed and built by the New Forest Containers team, this bespoke coffee bar combines a smart layout with a clean, contemporary finish, creating a space that’s ready to open its hatch and start serving.
A Coffee Bar Built Inside a 10ft Shipping Container
At just 10ft long, making the best possible use of the available space was a big part of this conversion.
Every element of the interior has been carefully considered to create an efficient workspace without making the container feel cramped. The finished build includes built-in fridges, sleek worktops, light wood panelling and a full-width serving hatch, giving the operator everything they need to keep service running smoothly.
The full-width hatch opens the container up to customers and creates a generous serving area, while the warm wood-effect interior gives the space a welcoming, modern feel.
It’s compact, practical and designed to look just as good with the hatch open as it does closed.
Why Use a Shipping Container for a Coffee Bar?
One of the biggest advantages of a container coffee shop is flexibility.
A 10ft shipping container has a relatively small footprint, making it a great option for locations where a traditional café building might not be practical. From beaches and tourist destinations to village centres, events, attractions and business sites, a converted container can create a distinctive hospitality space without requiring a large building.
Containers are also incredibly versatile. Rather than trying to adapt an existing space around your business, a bespoke conversion can be designed around the way you want to work.
Serving hatches, counters, refrigeration, storage, electrical installations, lighting and interior finishes can all be incorporated into the design, helping turn a simple steel container into a purpose-built commercial space.
Designed for Smooth Service
Good looks are important, but for a busy coffee bar, the layout has to work too.
With limited space available inside this 10ft unit, the positioning of the worktops, refrigeration and serving area was key. The result is a straightforward working environment where everything is within easy reach, helping make preparing drinks and serving customers as efficient as possible.
And when the day’s service is finished? The hatch can be closed and the container becomes a secure, self-contained unit once again.
Small Containers Can Make a Big Impression
We love seeing just how much can be achieved with our smaller container conversions, and this coffee bar is a great example.
You don’t necessarily need a 20ft or 40ft container to get a new hospitality idea off the ground. For the right business and location, a 10ft converted shipping container can provide a surprisingly capable commercial space – while also creating something distinctive enough to catch the attention of passing customers.
We can picture this one serving coffees by the beach, pastries in a village square or flat whites at a busy event.
Now we’re just looking forward to seeing that serving hatch open for its very first customer.
