A year after completion, we made our way back to Warwickshire to see one of our favourite projects in full bloom. Welcome to The Grove – a unique countryside retreat featuring a charmingly restored British cottage and two striking 20ft shipping container conversions, thoughtfully transformed into stylish accommodation.
Perched on a scenic farm in rural Warwickshire, surrounded by grazing animals and rolling hills, our client envisioned creating unique spaces where guests could truly immerse themselves in the breathtaking panoramic views. To bring this to life, our design team carefully planned the orientation of each unit to maximise the natural landscape—from the comfort of the bed to the spacious outdoor decking area, every angle offers a picture-perfect view
The goal? To transform two 20ft, one-trip shipping containers into sleek, modern shipping container homes, by blending sustainable architecture with contemporary comfort. These converted container cabin style builds are fully equipped for a peaceful countryside escape, offering guests an eco-friendly retreat in a tranquil, rural setting. Thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished, they’re the perfect example of how container conversions can offer stylish, functional, and immersive living experiences, perfect for short term stays.
The Lookout
The Lookout is a beautifully converted 20ft shipping container, designed to include everything you need for the perfect countryside staycation. This modern container cabin features floor-to-ceiling windows and bifold doors, allowing an abundance of natural light to flood the space and creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Positioned to face west, the large windows and doors ensure you can watch the sunset from the comfort of your bed while taking in uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Inside, you’ll find a super-comfy bed and a fully equipped kitchen in a calming olive sage tone, complete with a wooden countertop, induction hob, and even a wine fridge, perfect for cooking while enjoying the views from your secluded outdoor decking area.
The exterior is clad in sleek black panelling for a striking, modern finish, complemented by ambient internal and deck lighting. The bathroom is spacious and stylish, featuring a Mira shower, ceramic-tiled walls, and an olive-green vanity unit with a ceramic basin for a refined touch.
At every stage, our team ensured the orientation and interior layout met our client’s vision, delivering a cost-effective, fast-build shipping container home that doesn’t compromise on comfort or design.
Animal Crossing
Set against the same breathtaking backdrop of rolling countryside, Animal Crossing is another beautifully converted 20ft shipping container offering a peaceful and immersive countryside retreat, it boasts equally stunning panoramic views, with firepits and BBQs just outside, perfect for sunset dinners under the stars.
Inside, this stylish shipping container holiday home is fitted with a fully equipped forest sage kitchen, complete with a wooden countertop, induction hob, and wine fridge. As a thoughtful touch, guests are welcomed with fresh eggs from the on-site chickens and local milk to enjoy with their morning coffee.
